On the days Lester is here he makes sure we do things fun activities, but at my own pace. We've been going for long, but slow walks and that has been really nice. It most definitely seems to be doing the job of getting her moving down. I've been having inconsistent contractions for a while now, and that has been interesting haha.
On one of our walks, we went to another scenic spot in OKC. Again, I am always impressed with the gorgeous architecture and good planning in parts of the city. We always do these things at night, so they light up everything. They had lots of beautiful water features, amphitheaters and greenery, but my favorite was the children's park there. Talk about fun and creative-we will most definitely be going back often when she's born, both for her sake and mine. We also have to explore the cool conservatory building more, and we want to try several other things. So hopefully that will all work out.
Another thing that I was not aware of until we moved here was the tragedy of the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. Second only to the Sept. 11th terrorist attack, this bombing by two embittered men was set off in a downtown federal building. It killed 168 ppl, and injured over 680-many of the victims were children. The explosion was so large that it was felt and heard for miles and miles. It touched the hearts and minds of the world, and now there is a beautiful memorial it its place so that we can honor them and the lives they lived. Walking along the memorial, I couldn't help but hope with all my heart that these people could see that this is not the end. That families can be together forever and their lives meant something. Anyways, it was a solemn but important visit and it made me grateful for this life and this country and I'm glad we went.
Anyways, this is us lately. I am going to go make some german pancakes now. Gotta take advantage of those random cravings while I still have an excuse, right?
[This thing is actually a fountain-the water comes from the floor, and then fluorescent multicolored lights come on as well. So fun!]
[This is the Conservatory-it changes colors all night long and there is a river underneath it. We have yet to go inside, but it is on our agenda!]
[These are from the childrens park-we didn't get a ton of all the other cool things they had cuz it was dark by the time we got there. But still fun!]
[These are all from the Memorial-there is a Jesus statue that says quotes the 'And Jesus wept' scripture. The reflection pool is like glass and it is lovely.]

Looks like so much fun, Julia, I love that you get to explore a whole new place! We got to go to OKC on our trip when we moved to AZ from GA. Going to the bombing memorial was truly a humbling experience. It was such a reminder of how world peace really does start with our own tolerance and forgiveness of people in our own lives--seeing the smaller chairs for the children who died was heart wrenching. And I loved the chain link fence. I hope we can go to OKC again sometime so we can see all the other cool places you're blogging about! As it is, we only had a couple of hours, so we stopped for a pic at the temple, and the memorial and that was it. Looks like we missed a LOT! =) Can't wait to see pics of the new darling girl, the time will be here before you know it!
